Contact us to make an appointment with one of our designers. We are happy to meet with you in our show room, at your home, on the job site and Wherever convenient for you. It is a good idea to bring along any plans you may have, as well as appliance & sanitaryware information and any photos, sketches etc of the look/style you want to achieve with your joinery.
Pre selecting or having a clear idea of what appliances you want (e.g A wall oven or freestanding) will ensure the initial design and consult is accurate and to your requirements.
Our design team will then show you the latest trend options for materials, finishes, layout ideas & colour. We will recommend storage solutions and lighting, for both task and mood to make your new kitchen stand out day and night.
Our team will then get onto preparing detailed designs and quotes for your consideration.
Whilst it is not a requirement it is helpful to provide us with a budget for your project. Providing an idea on budget will allow us to show you exactly which materials, features, accessories and configuration can be allowed for.
Keep in mind when renovating additional costs need to be allowed for in your budget, you may require the following:
- Building works (Moving internal walls etc)
- Plastering/Patching and re cornicing
- Plumbing and Electrical costs
- Floor Coverings
Innovative Kitchens have many years’ experience coordinating the above (If required) to make sure your renovation run smoothly. We will discuss this with you during the design consultation to see what you would like to have included in your quotation.
After your initial consultation with us we then draw up your joinery and provide you with a preliminary quote. Our designers are on hand to run through every detail of these documents with you. We invite you to make an appointment so we can discuss with you in person exactly what is included in your quote & show you from our selections room what materials have been allowed for.
We understand how important it is for you to make sure that your kitchen is everything you want it to be. We are happy to work with you from the preliminary quote onwards to make changes & update drawings/costings until we have a result you are a 100% satisfied with.
Now that you are happy with your design and costings it is time to finalise the colour selections. Our designers are here to give you as much or as little help as you require with this process.
Bring along any tiles or paint samples that you may have pre-selected, this ensures your joinery compliments your room flawlessly. When the final selections are done, we update your drawings and quote ready for you to review and sign off on.
Note: If you are building a new home and we’re supplying your joinery through one of our builders then you may need to sign off on the contract/pricing with the builder and your colour selections, joinery configurations/plans with us.
From this point on the process varies depending on whether you are building or renovating.
The timeframe of your joinery depends on the builder’s schedule. The site supervisor will contact us when they are ready for us to measure up for joinery at which stage we will do a final measure to ensure all joinery fits as per your requirements. Should any measurements on site vary enough to change your joinery in any way we will contact you for approval before making any changes. If you are supplying your own appliances then now is the time to make sure that they will be available ASAP.
From the time of final measure your joinery will take between 2 & 4 weeks until delivery to site. This time frame varies depending on materials selected (e.g. solid timber doors take longer to supply than standard laminate doors), current workload and builders scheduling.
Every effort is made by our team to have the joinery installation completed as quickly as possible. The installation time varies greatly on the materials selected. Stone bench tops are not ordered until after the cupboards have been installed so we can ensure a perfect fit. Glass splashbacks are not ordered until bench tops are installed for the same reason.
Any maintenance issues are fixed up ASAP to ensure your joinery is 100% completed to both yours and the builder’s satisfaction before handover.
Now that your selections and pricing have been approved we will also draw up a contract for you to sign. This contract specifies the estimated delivery time as well as the payment scheduling for your job. Again our office staff will go through every detail of this to make sure there is no confusion.
Please note: We have the same process for our owner builders as we do renovation clients. Owner builders will be required to sign a contract & pay a deposit in full before joinery manufacturing will begin. We will also do a final site measure before the final documents are drawn up.
If you are supplying your own appliances you need to make sure everything will be available & onsite by the scheduled delivery date. Now is also a good time to organise a temporary kitchen as yours will be out of service whilst renovation work is being carried out.
If you are removing your old joinery yourself ensure you allow enough time to rectify any little surprises that may arise during removal (e.g. sealing off gas, plumbing, removing tiles etc). Charges may apply if the installation of your job is held up due to the renovation site not being ready in time.
We understand a renovation can be a stressful time and greatly interrupts the flow of your home that is why every effort is made by our team to have the joinery installation completed as quickly as possible. The installation time varies greatly on the materials selected. Stone bench tops are not ordered until after the cupboards have been installed so we can ensure a perfect fit. Glass splashbacks are not ordered until bench tops are installed for the same reason. We will give you a timeframe when signing the contract based on the materials you have selected.
