Brownhill Creek New Contemporary Kitchen

The design concepts for this kitchen in Brownhill Creek were stunning – our challenge was making the concept come to life.

Design Features

The floating base cabinets on the hotplate wall & the oven tower both had to be supported by a steel frame and then the steel supports needed to be concealed by the cabinets. This required precise measurements and good communication and coordination with the builder.
The lift-up servo drive units also had to be customized to suit the span of the doors & prevent the doors from bowing.
Compact alfresco laminate backing was used on the window wall cabinets as their backs were otherwise exposed to the elements.
After multiple discussions on the subject the benchtops were customized to finish at 1000mm high to suit the client’s specific request. Due to the weight of the concrete benchtops solid form-ply carcass tops were included for structural strength and solid bases were used on the island rather than legs for added support.

We were able to come up with an innovative solution regarding the pantry grain matched doors. Because the doors were taller than the board size available if we used 2 sheets of board the grain wouldn’t have matched perfectly. To achieve a higher quality finish, we used larger sheets of laminate, laid them on board ourselves and then we were able to match not only the extra tall doors but also the infills, pelmet and kicker so the grain was completely continuous.

The attention to detail, hard work and responsive solutions in this kitchen all contribute to a luxurious family home.
