This project was all about clean, long, stylish lines. The kitchen is the inviting centerpiece of this Chiton home, full of art and warmth. Practicality and functionality were also key to our clients, balanced by a modern seamless finish. This kitchen celebrates the life that happens around and through it, being an amazing focal point for entertaining.
Design Features
- Diffused lighting underneath the island benchtop, on the front concealed in the handle recess and underneath the seating overhang on the back of the island
- Open timber shelves above the fridge add a display area for the clients many beautiful pieces
- Power points located on the inside of the island
- A built in vacuum return pipe
- Twin bin and integrated dishwasher behind panels on the island, to add to the ease of use in the kitchen without taking away from the style

The gorgeous travertine floor extends up onto the back panel of the island bench, creating challenges regarding the positioning and length of the island with the goal of using whole tiles along the length of the island back.
The space is ideal for entertaining however the client did not want to create a visual barrier into the courtyard alfresco area with a canopy unit over the island which resulted in the solution of a down draft extraction unit being used for the flush mount hotplate.
